A music machine — four synthesis engines, a touch surface, and one cable to your DAW.
Brume is a standalone instrument with four synthesis engines, twenty-four voices, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and a single USB-C cable that bridges it to any DAW as a class-compliant audio and MIDI device.
Its engines draw from four distinct lineages of electronic instrument design: a dual-oscillator Complex architecture with through-zero FM and wavefolding; an additive Harmonic engine with Gaussian spectral scanning; a Serge-style Timbral oscillator with wave-multiplier shaping; and a Granular engine that synthesizes pitched clouds of micro-oscillators from scratch.

Brume is a multi-timbral music machine from Aftertone & Signal. Four synthesis engines — Complex, Harmonic, Timbral, and Granular — share 24 voices of polyphony, a shared effects chain, and a Lua 5.4 scripting surface. A single USB-C cable connects Brume to a DAW as a class-compliant multi-channel audio and MIDI instrument. Built on a real-time Linux kernel over Compute Module 5 with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen.
